Our God is a God of promise- covenant promise!
He is the fulfiller of His own Word!
Jesus Christ is the fulfillment
-He is the Word-
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today & forever so we can rely on Him always. We can count on Him as the living Word of God and we can trust every promise He has ever given us.
His answer is Yes & Amen and He is faithful!
Even in times of disappointment (& I've had many of these)... the ultimate truth is that God is a God of victory, not disappointment.
Just look at the cross :) From the outside it looked like crushing defeat. Many were fooled when it happened, including His disciples!
Yet what did Christ accomplish:
He conquered death & the enemy.
Jesus Christ lives in us! He gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit, resurrection life & the promise of new bodies, just to name a few... :D
If you are still awaiting promises that God has given you --
if you have walked through valleys --
I believe this is actually a place of overwhelming victory!
In weakness and in trials, even when it looks impossible, it is God's strength, victory & His power at work in us that makes POSSIBLE the IMPOSSIBLE! Every valley is a mountain to stand on because it reveals the great depths and roots we have in Christ and the great love He has for us. He carries us through every trial and circumstance.
He will not fail us because this is IMPOSSIBLE for an
ALL POWERFUL AND LOVING GOD- it's an OXYMORON!
God is trustworthy & good.
I have seen God's faithfulness in my life and in the lives of others too. It would be impossible for me to believe in Him this number of years if He had not sustained my faith. He has upheld me even in believing.
The God of Scripture who was ever faithful to His people is the same God we know today. In fact, we have an even wider lens of His faithfulness with a vantage point 2000 years after His death & resurrection. God fulfilled both ends of His covenant promise.
He died on our behalf to fulfill His Word and restore us to our full inheritance as sons and daughters of glory.
He did all the work for us & it was something that only He could do! He put our lives before His own. GRACE & MERCY wrapped in LOVE! This same God is certainly BIG enough and GOOD enough to fulfill EVERY WORD that He has ever spoken, every promise He has breathed to you.
Let's not underestimate the height, depth, length and width of Jesus Christ, Father God & Holy Spirit... there is no limit to the Trinity's love & ongoing faithfulness. God cannot help being Faithful and loving, that's just who He is.
Accept NOTHING LESS than the fulness of who He is. YES & AMEN!
