What is Healing?
I think the clearest word I ever heard God speak to me was the word, “sozo”. When I looked it up, I discovered it was a Greek word that refers to the complete healing of a person- the complete salvation of every part of someone, which would even include the cellular level!
There was a time when I believed that only the soul of a person was saved and the rest would happen in heaven. I now know that healing is for today, despite what some churches or people might say.
Jesus healed people everywhere and trained his disciples to pray for the sick and heal those in need.
The following verses were a commission from Jesus to His followers when He declared that signs and wonders would follow all believers. Miracles and healings are for today!
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mark 16:17-18)
I have saw some people receive immediate healing while others seemed to experience healing gradually for even days after.

Healing can show up in different ways for different people. Some people may experience heat, while others, a cool sensation. Some people feel peace or even nothing in the moment. There is a multitude of unique ways you might experience healing- there is no formula for the way God might heal you. Often after praying, I ask the person to test out the troubled area if possible to see what may have changed.
Even in cases where I don’t see an immediate change, my belief is that something always happens. The Bible says, God’s word will not return void. (Isaiah 55:11) I believe praying in the name of Jesus always produces something. I believe God does not leave us empty handed, even when we don’t understand what is happening during or after a prayer.
Ultimately, healing is a work of God and God’s will. If it was not His will, Jesus Christ would not have spent so much time healing people and restoring them or asking his followers to do the same for others.

ONE OF MY FIRST HEALING EXPERIENCES
I was born with legs that were not completely aligned from the hip down. I sometimes walked with a limp and a pronation of the foot. It was not totally debilitating but interfered with dance, which I really enjoyed. Sometimes people would ask me about my walk or why I limped.
In 2010, I was at a large church and they made opportunity for people to receive prayer. A man from the church came over and I asked him to pray for my legs because I wanted to dance. I knew very little about healing or what to expect. As he prayed, I felt a tingling in my legs. The tingling feeling carried on for a bit but I grew afraid of what might happen next so I didn't remain there too long before walking away. I thought something had happened but wasn’t positive until my friend told me I was walking completely different the next day. I had not told this friend on purpose because I wanted to see she would notice anything. I was thrilled because this confirmed a definite change even though my legs looked much the same! I also noticed that I could balance a bit longer on one leg, which was something I had always struggled to do before.

I don’t know exactly what was happening in that prayer but I did leave that place with an improvement in my legs that some people noticed.

What if nothing seems to happen?

When a healing that you've been waiting for hasn’t happened yet, it's easy to be discouraged.
In these times, I think back to ministry school where we learned to keep praying for people and to leave the results with God. We avoided formulas and placing blame on anyone.
Interestingly, I have heard about and seen some of the most extraordinary healing when it seemed to be impossible! Whether it’s a small thing or a big thing that needs healing, God is well able to do either and not daunted though sometimes we might naturally be.

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20)

It is God’s faith that operates through us- even in moments where there may seem to be little faith for anything at all to happen.

Ultimately, the character of God is revealed in the way Jesus was on earth.
He is a healer and loves you. Perhaps the more we grow in this revelation, the more healing we will see in the world!
BLESSING YOU TODAY
WITH ALL THE HEALING AND WHOLENESS GOD HAS FOR YOU!
