A Free Mind- Part 3

So how to have a renewed mind & awaken to the reality of your true Christ like nature, especially facing so much negativity and opposing messages?

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.... (Romans 12:2)

Sorry to keep you hanging on this one!

Exhale, Relax...

Rather than striving to figure it all out, God has personally been highlighting rest.

Rest is so integral to the renewal of my mind and is part of your inheritance won on the Cross, your promised land.

I had a picture of God's rest being like an exhale- a release- a surrender.

Instead of rising up, it's a sinking in, into Christ actually- your true nature.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20)

Beyond sitting still, napping or sleeping... ;)

Rest is for everyone.

It belongs to you at all times, not based on the activities you do.

Experiencing God's rest, however, was not obvious to me. Perhaps because my thinking & lifestyle was driven by striving. When God said 'surrender,' I looked at Him dumbfounded & frustrated, "what could this mean, especially with all I have to do?"

Spending some quiet time with God where I literally ceased from activity, helped me to experience rest. Sometimes a doer just needs to stop doing for a period of time. ;)

Engaging in a favourite activity that brings enjoyment and relaxation, is for others, a taste of rest. There is no formula.

Sinking In

Your new mind & identity is often revealed in relaxation, enjoyment, pleasure and peace because you were meant to have these things, fruit of the new creation you.

Resting in what Christ completed on the cross is the place of fruitfulness.

Sinking into the realization of who we carry (Christ), the rubbish & lies seem to melt away.

You become/manifest/realize who God made you to be.

Unwell or hurting, physically and/or mentally, Jesus' love spilled out on the cross is the truth meant to reign within your entire being, brining wholeness, restoring true identity.

Hearing God's voice, feeling His presence and distinguishing the lies that kept you feeling captive are all part of a renewed mind and a life of rest.

Being seen as you are

Getting around friends, teachers or anyone who believes Christ has given us a new mind & identity, helps you to believe this.

Joining a community where you hear this message builds faith within. (Romans 10:17).

The faith it stirs up empowers you to live according to your true nature.

Perhaps this will look like an undoing or letting go of some of the negative bombardment you've been fed.

Being BUILT UP by people who see you the way God does is so important- people who encourage you, celebrate you and journey with you.
